Nair joined Myntra on 21 February 2024 as the chief of strategic planning and omnichannel

New Delhi: Former Shoppers Stop MD Venu Nair has joined fashion marketplace Myntra as chief of strategic partnerships and omnichannel on Wednesday according to sources with direct knowledge of the development.

Nair will be responsible for strengthening Myntra’s existing international brands portfolio, while building strategic partnerships with leading global brands. He will also be managing omni-channel strategy for brands.

He will be reporting to Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha.

Nair resigned from his position as managing director and chief executive officer of Shoppers Stop effective 31 August 2023 due to personal reasons. He has been at the helm of the company since November 2020 and was responsible for steering the company into new formats such as the value format Intune and SS Beauty.

Under his leadership, Shoppers Stop has also transformed itself into a multichannel retailer with all the merchandise in every category the company that the company sells in its stores also being visible in real-time on the company’s website and on its mobile phone app.

Nair is a retail veteran with experience of retailing experience of about three decades and had served as heads of Westside and Marks & Spencer in India before his latest role at Shoppers Stop.

At Trent as the CEO of Westside, Nair was responsible for the growth of the brand across the country for over three years. Before Trent, he worked with Marks & Spencer for 14 years in various roles across India and the United Kingdom. His last role from 2012 to 2017 was as Managing Director – Marks & Spencer Reliance Pvt. Ltd. While working for M&S in London, he took the opportunity to convince the M&S plc board to venture into India and thus brought the M&S brand into India.

Nair holds a B.Tech (Hon) from NIT, Calicut and an MBA degree from S.P. Jain Institute of Management, Mumbai.

His mantra is: Every day is day 1.
