Zara, H&M open first ever stores in New Zealand

Must Read

Fast fashion brands Zara and H&M opened their first stores in New Zealand this week, and hundreds of shoppers turned up to pick up simple, smart and elegant pieces of clothing at very affordable prices.
Zara’s one-storey outlet at New Zealand’s Sylvia Park marks the brand tapping its 93rd market, offering all of the brand’s clothing collections including women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, with stock updated twice a week.
The store is five times to size of an average Sylvia Park shop.
The world’s second largest retailer, H&M had also launched a store at Sylvia Park last week, with the store staff whipping the shoppers into a frenzy with a welcome dance, DJ and tons of entertainment options – quite a contrast to Zara’s quiet (though crowded) launch.
The owners of Sylvia Park, Kiwi Property, are hopeful that this will draw in more international brands to New Zealand.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that H&M is going to open a second store at Auckland next year.
Other international brands coming to New Zealand include Britain’s Topshop and FCUK, jeweller Tiffany’s and Australian department store David Jones.
