Hewlett-Packard has launched one of its kind industrial printing press ‘HP Scitex FB10000’ in addition to the HP Latex 3000 and Kongsberg XP cutting table for the very first time in the country.

Delhi-based Meghdoot, a leader in the field of corrugated cartons manufacturing is the first buyer of this machine.

This newly launched product vouches to create the new dimensions in printing and packaging needs of consumer brands. With the help of this latest innovation in printing industry, brands can now think of having a free style display unit in 500  retail outlets and all of that having different type of look and feel. In addition, they can sell a single beverage in every city with different name of the box.

Speaking more on this project, Rohit Kapoor, Executive Director, Meghdoot informs that before launching this machine we had met 10 different consumer brands. And, based upon speaking these brands,we find out that ‘time’ was one of the biggest concerns that brand managers were facing when it comes to full-filling their printing and packaging needs.

‘Designing’ was yet another concern that brand managers were facing. The kind of designs these brands were getting were more or less a sort of fabrication, and they were working with sick materials that do not add value to the product.

Speaking further he adds that brands these days brands seek and get feedback from across the globe. And, they wanted someone who can replicate the feedbacks that they are getting from their principal head quarters.

Consistency and cost of printing were also very challenging for them.

“Right kind of packaging has a big role to play in increasing the engagement with the customers which ultimately effect the sales,” informs Kapoor.

The entire project has costed Meghdoot over four and half a million rupees. The company is conducting open house sessions with brand managers these days to let them aware about this latest innovation.

Highlighting more on machine capacity, he adds, “Suppose, someone is looking to open a showroom and wants wall papers for it, we can offer him five different options, and with the help of software(that comes with the machine) he can see the 3D display of the store in real time. He can also decide on positioning and angle of the products through this machine.”

The machine is capable to print directly on acrylic, corrugated, paper, sun board, and so on.

Speaking further he adds, “Previously, it was the notion that market will not absorb these type of products. Breaking the myth, ITC Foods has launched delicious cookies which are very expensive. The company took it as a challenge and they did brilliant packaging for it. No doubt the end product is expensive, but people are still accepting it.”

Meghdoot is supplying over million delivery boxes to e-commerce major Flipkart every month, informs kapoor.

Also present at occasion, Puneet Chadha, director, market development, graphic solutions business, HP Asia Pacific and Japan, said, “The HP Scitex FB10000 will help our customers like Meghdoot deliver to their customers in the retail marketers across the demands of quality and affordability, thereby helping them stay ahead of the curve in a highly competitive market.”
