Nike plans to increase retail outlets

The Indian sportswear market is growing at a rate of over 30 per cent and is said to be around Rs 1,500 crore. Keeping this under consideration the sports footwear and apparel giant Nike has planned to expand its retail operations in India.

At present the company has around 100 monobrands stores in the country. The company is taking the franchisee route and is expected to add another 100 stores by the end of 2007. It has also planned to introduce the new Ronaldinho signature collection in India.
