He further added, “This report not only highlights the challenges we face but also the incredible opportunities for positive change.”

The report delves into the complexities of sustainability in fashion, tackling issues ranging from environmental impact to ethical production practices. It presents a compelling narrative of the fashion industry’s evolution, from being a major contributor to global pollution to becoming a beacon of sustainability and circularity.

“As consumers become more conscious of their purchasing decisions, brands and retailers are recognizing the need to embrace sustainability. The growth of the ethical fashion market is a testament to this shift, and it’s heartening to see so many initiatives dedicated to making a positive impact,” added Taneja.

Speaking about the sustainability landscape in fashion, Dr. Naresh Tyagi, Chief Sustainability Officer, ABFRL, said, “The sustainable fashion industry is currently worth over $6.5 billion, with projections to reach $10.1 billion by 2025 and $15 billion by 2030.”
