Blue Star to set up two units in Jammu and Andhra

The largest AC and refrigeration company of India, Blue Star, announced today that it is planning set up two units in Jammu and Andhra Pradesh. They have earmarked Rs 215 crore for the new establishments.

Blue Star has an annual turnover of over Rs 3200 crore, 35 offices all over the country, 5 modern manufacturing facilities, around 2500 employees, 2200 dealers and 500 retailers.

The company has business alliances with world leaders like Rheem Mfg Co, USA; Hitachi Medical Corporation, Japan; Carel, Italy; Danfoss, Denmark; Bitzer, Germany; Emerson, USA; Aeroflex, USA; Kitz, Japan; and many others.

“We have plans to set up two units with a total investment of Rs 215 crore at Jammu and Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. With the help of these two units, the company is looking forward to manufacture air conditioners, deep freezers and water coolers. The company had sold 3.1 lakh room ACs last fiscal,”Joint Managing Director, Blue Star, B Thiagarajan was quoted by PTI as saying.

To the above quote, he further added, “As per estimates, the annual demand for room ACs is 40 lakh pieces in the country and this demand is expected to rise by 20 per cent in the current fiscal. The company targets 12 per cent room AC sales in the current fiscal.”
