Titan gears up for festive season with new launches

With over 1,100 retail stores in over 220 towns and a network of over 740 after-sales-service centres, The Titan Company is the fifth largest integrated own brand watch manufacturer in the world.
Titan, which has over 400 exclusive World of Titan showrooms and over 150 Fastrack stores, is geared up to repeat the Titan and Tanishq success story with its each new offering. Speaking to Indiaretailing, S Ravi Kant, CEO, Watches and Accessories, Titan shares details about the new products soon to be launched under the premium segment this fiscal and also elaborates on plans of entering cities of UP and MP.
“Every year we launch exciting new products keeping in mind our consumers’ needs. Raga, the sub brand catering to the progressive Indian women, will see the launch of a new collection during the festive season. Also in the pipeline is an entire line of fashionable watches, for both ladies and gents,” he says.
“For the fast growing sports look segment, we will be introducing feature-driven watches that reflect our sport design ethos. We will also be introducing specially crafted solid gold watches under the Nebula brand; limited edition watches embellished with diamonds and precious stones,” he adds.
Titan markets and distributes Tommy Hilfiger, French Connection, Police and Timberland watches in India under the licensed brands portfolio. In addition to this, the Helios chain retails leading international watch brands that include Fossil, Armani, Guess, Seiko, Tag Heuer, among others.
According to Ravikant there are several untapped markets with strong agricultural income such as Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Sirsa in Haryana, Ujjain and Dewas in Madhya Pradesh.
“There are also fast developing industrial towns, Anand, Nanded, Roorkee and Nashik. These towns are seeing a spurt in retail and brand consumption. We have successfully forayed into some of these towns through our brands and only after tapping the potential in the markets we will continue to foray and invest in them,” he elaborates.
The company has sold 150 million watches the world over and manufactures over 15 million watches every year. Titan Company also operates the largest jewellery retail chain in India with over 160 Tanishq boutiques, two Zoya stores, and over 30 Gold Plus stores. It also sports over 300 Titan Eye+ stores. In addition, the company retails personal accessories such as bags, belts, wallets and most recently perfumes under the brand Skinn.
