Modi Defines his Fashion Statement through his Name Embroidered Stripes

Must Read

On the latest visit of the US President Barack Obama, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was dressed at its best as his fashion sense caught eye of everyone during the power packed three-day visit of the US President.
Obama could not stop himself from praising the Prime Minister’s fashion sense. At the State dinner at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Obama said, “And he also has style”. Modi sported his ‘Modi Kurta’ theme when he received Obama at the airport. The Prime Minister was seen wearing a cream coloured kurta with bandgala jacket and a striking saffron-coloured scarf with a paisley pattern.
The Prime Minister, who’s dressing sense has always been a subject of dialogue for fashion pundits, even defeated Michelle in the number of wardrobe changes. The second appearance Modi made was at the Hyderabad House along with Obama. Here he gave Michelle some hard competition in a dark suit with gold Jodhupuri work pinstripes and a check pocket square for talks with the US President.
But to everyone’s surprise, the work on the suit was not actually stripes but ‘Narendra Damodardas Modi’ embroidered on the outfit. No doubt, the stripes on his suit definitely created waves. However, he was not the first to make his suit talk about him. Egypt’s ousted President Hosni Mubbarak wore a similar suit way back in 2009.
The US President who was always dressed in his traditional bullet proof presidential suits, praised Modi’s dressing sense and said, “I wanted to wear a Modi kurta myself.”
On January 26, Modi welcomed the US President and the First Lady wearing a black bandhgala complemented by colourful and traditional bandhni print pagdi. Throughout the much talked about visit of the US President Obama, the Prime Minister successfully made his share of fashion statement.
