Lifestyle has bagged the Most Admired Retailer of the year in the Department Store category at the fifth edition of Images Retail Awards (IRA) ceremony, held at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai on 18th September this year.
Lifestyle is part of the Landmark Group, a Dubai-based retail chain. With over 30 years of experience in retailing, the group has the distinction of being the foremost retailer in the Gulf. The Indian operation having started with a single store in Chennai in 1999, the group is fast becoming a preferred destination in the Indian subcontinent too.
Speaking to Indiaretailing, a spokesperson for Lifestyle said, “At present, Lifestyle has 14 stores, across India, which we seek to expand to 35 stores in the next three years time. We seek to expand mostly to tier I and II cities”. The average size of a Lifestyle store is 46,000 square feet.
Having expanded across the country, Lifestyle has one store in Chennai, four stores in Mumbai, two stores in Bengaluru and one each in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jaipur, Gurgaon, NOIDA and New Delhi. Positioned with the tag line “Your Style. Your Store.”, a typical department store, Lifestyle covers five categories namely, apparel, footwear, home furnishings, kidswear and personal grooming products.
Lifestyle believes its loyalty programme called the ‘Inner circle’ with a base of over 8 lakh members who have been playing a crucial role in its popularity. “Loyalty programmes are very important for a store like ours to retain customers. We offer them a lot of privileges and incentives for repeat buying”, said the spokesperson.
Lifestyle also operates six exclusive Home Centre stores in India, which the group plans to expand to 15, in the next three years time.
