Blue Foods plans major expansions

Blue Foods Pvt. Ltd, the company that operates various food retail chains across the country, has planned to invest around Rs 150 crore to expand brand outlets including Copper Chimney, Gelato, Bombay Blue, Noodle Bar and Spaghetti Kitchen.

The company, for its flagship brand Copper Chimney, has planed to add around 15 new outlets by 2010. “Four of our outlets are scheduled to open in 2008 in cities including Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and New Delhi,” said Arun Chopra, head, Blue Foods.

According to Chopra, the stores will cover an area of around 4,000 square feet and host around 120 people at a time. “The basic concept of Copper Chimney will remain the same, but there will be slight innovations as we explore other markets,” he added.
