The placement programme for the second batch of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) which graduates next year begins from January eight and will be held at the seven centers of the Institute in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar and Hyderabad.
According to the schedule announced by the institute, the centrally administered placement would be held in Mumbai (January 8-11), Bangalore(January 21 – 23), Chennai (January 24 and 25), Kolkata, Gandhinagar and Hyderabad (January 30 and 31).
Students of Masters (Apparel Production, Fashion Management) and Bachelor programmes (Fashion Design, Leather Design, Knitwear Design, Textile Design, Communication Design, Accessory Design, Apparel Production) will be offered placements
The placements held in January this year saw about 100 companies participate and nearly 600 students getting jobs.
Most of the Design and Technology students were placed with Manufacturer-Exporters. The Fashion Management graduates were primarily placed with the Retailers and Brand Owners.
