Bengaluru: Nature’s Basket, a gourmet retail subsidiary of Spencer’s Retail, has launched its flagship store in Kolkata strategically positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for gourmet food products, the company wrote on social media on Thursday.

Spanning over 7,000 sq. ft. of retail space, the new outlet is located on the Judges Court Road, Alipore, Kolkata.

“Nomoskar Kolkata, we just opened our exquisite Nature’s Basket Artisan Pantry at Judges Court Road, Alipore! This 7,000 sq. ft. flagship store is a foodie’s dream – with exquisite breads, global cheeses, custom chocolates, a truffle bar, and loads of other gourmet delights,” said Nature’s Basket in a LinkedIn post while sharing images of the new store.

The new outlet is the second under the brand name ‘Artisan Pantry’ following the debut of its first outlet at Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel, Mumbai. Boasting a sprawling 12,000 sq. ft., it stands as the largest Nature’s Basket store in India.

Nature’s Basket is the wholly owned subsidiary of Spencer’s Retail and part of the RP- Sanjiv Goenka group headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal. The gourmet retail brand started in 2005 as a single store in Mumbai.

Today, the brand transformed into an omni-channel retail business with over 32 stores operating across cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, NCR and Kolkata.

Multi-format retailer Spencer’s Retail provides a range of products across categories such as food, personal care, fashion, home essentials and electronics. Currently, Spencer’s runs over 158 stores, including 48 hyper stores in over 35 cities in India, as per the it’s official LinkedIn page.
