Jeans London was founded in 1973 at a stall in Portobello Market (London) by Nitin, Arun & Milan Shah. By 1980, Pepe Jeans London was rivalling all the big US brands for the No.1 spot in the market, becoming the UK’s most successful jeans brand ever. Pepe entered the Indian market in 1989 as a denim and casual wear brand. The brand extended its product offerings and grew into a complete denim wear brand with denim jackets, shirts etc along with its line of jeans.
Pepe Jeans London was launched in India in 1989. Looking back, over the last 25 years, the brand has flourished and continues to expand throughout the country, in sync with its global identity. The new store layouts are a replica of the brand’s international stores, designed to transport the customers into the streets of London and provide quality fashion products with an interactive environment.
“At Pepe Jeans, we are evolving along with the consumer; and are attempting to create a new identity in the process. We are renovating our stores keeping in mind international formats,” Mishra says, referring to his vision for the brand.
“The popularity of the brand has transcended onto the e-commerce platform as well; as we continue to be the preferred choice of young consumers,” he adds.
