Must Read

Kolkata-based men’s lifestyle apparel brand, Turtle is buyout about its expansion plans as Shitanshu Jhunjhunwalla, Director, Turtle says, “Our focus is Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and we believe in cluster-wise growth and expansion. As a ‘brand with a conscience’ we try and ensure that whatever we do is socially responsible and positively impacts the environment”.

Currently, the brand is available in over 400 cities, across over 1200 MBOs and over 80 EBOs in India. Turtle is also present internationally in Dubai, Bahrain, Muscat, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The brand also has presence in over 175 LFS (e.g. Central, Pantaloons, Shoppers Stop). Marking its presence online the brand is also retailed through its in-house website Turtleonline.in and through Jabong, Flipkart, Myntra, HomeShop18, SnapDeal, etc.

The brand has a holistic product portfolio with a wide range of apparel and accessories – shirts, trousers, T-shirts, denims, suits, blazers, jackets, windcheaters, pullovers, hats, caps, eye-wear, bags, footwear, ties, cufflinks, wallets, belts, socks, scarves, handkerchiefs, etc. The brand has showcases a sneak peak to its autumn winter 2014 collection.

“We have a very strong product line up this time, as we have firstly used 2-ply fabrics, a higher base quality with good compactness, where hand-feel is superior. And secondly, the collection was given a special resin and baked treatment which enhances the overall look and luster of the garment. The hand-feel is much softer and smoother. Thirdly, we have a wide range of garment dyed denims with at least 12-15 colors – from softer tones to eclectic ones for the festive season. Further, there is a basket of coated denims with tonal coating to add contrast, so we have a good mix. And finally, apart from all of the above, we have been using fabric imported from turkey, which is considered one with the superior base”, Jhunjhunwalla adds.

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Turtle has been engaged in the conservation and protection of endangered species of turtles for many years. Recently the brand has associated with TSA (Turtle Survival Alliance – a global organization working across geographies) for conservation of fresh water turtles in chambal river valley. Turtle has recently undergone a brand revamp, with a new logo and store design (in sync with international brand imagery), as well as the store layout, fixtures, product display and visual merchandizing.
