Russian hydro-electronic company, HydroOGK, may enter the retail electricity market.
The company is considering creation of one or more retail companies, a HydroOGK official said, reports Russian news agencyinterfax.
A retail company is needed particularly in the Caucasus, where construction of several smaller hydroelectric stations is planned.
The questions of how many retail companies should be created and how the business will operate are currently being discussed, the official said.
HydroOGK generated 15% of its profit in the first half from operations on the liberalized section of the wholesale electricity market.
