Casualwear brand Weekender has been bought over by Bangalore-based Primus Group, a value fashion chain that is part of garment export house K Mohan & Co., official sources told Indiaretailing.

Both Primus and Gokaldas Images (GI) have so far not disclosed the sum and other details on the basis of which the deal was signed.

Primus is a relatively young company. Its core competency is retail and distribution of lifestyle products with specific regard to apparel, shoes and related accessories (both fashion and sports).

Gokaldas Exports is a major player in the readymade garment industry. The launch of Weekender in 1987 introduced to the Indian market the concept of category retailing focused on youth fashion. Weekender was later extended to Weekender Kids and Toonworld
