Islamic Spas in Indonesia

Must Read

Indonesian spas have come up with an innovative route to reach the elusive Muslim women. Salon Muslimah, an Islamic spa, offer treatments designed to meet Islamic values, including paying for a special headscarf styling. Styling and massages aren’t the only offerings on the spa menus; customers get halal cosmetics, that is, cosmetics made using halal ingredients. The glycerin, keratin, collagen or tallow, that are often used in spa products are replaced with pork-free, halal alternatives to protect the sensibilities of their clients. Many products still contain alcohol, though, as alcohol is the most widely used base for most perfumes. Also, out of respect for the Islamic belief that preaches that waxing is an unhealthy practice, Brazilian waxing is not allowed.
