Eyeing potential in the western markets, Voltas opened its second exclusive showroom in Pune. The showroom stocks all products from the brand including air-conditioners, refrigerators and water coolers.
“The company has put in place plans to capture 22 per cent market share through sales of about one lakh units in the western region. The western region includes Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Last year, sales in this region were around 4.7 lakh units for air-conditioners, window and split,” said Pradeep Bakshi, vice-president, sales and marketing, Voltas.
“Mumbai has eight showrooms and the plans are to add another five, while Pune will have one more. The other locations where showrooms are present are Kolhapur, Aurangabad and Nasik,” Bakshi added.
The company is expected to add more than 50 channel partners by the end of the year, making it a total of 827 regionally, and enhance service franchisee from 115 to 140 this year.
