Nestle Waters, a Nestle SA unit, has joined the race to buy Mount Everest Mineral Water Ltd. Nestle has dabbled in the water business in India in 2001, when it launched Pure Life water. It pulled back from the market two years later.
Tata group is also in the fray to buy the Mount Everest Mineral Water Ltd. Sources say that Tata has bid over $48 million for the company. Tata tea, a part of the Tata group, sells Glaceau enhanced water in US market.
