Toonz Retail to Invest Rs. 20 crore to Strengthen its Foothold

Begaluru-based kidswear retail company, Toonz Retail has plans to invest around Rs. 20 crore in India for further expansion in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. With this the company aims to achieve a target of Rs. 100 crore sales in the next two years.
Toonz Retail is a one-stop shop for all the needs and occasions of kids from 0-12 years such as apparel, toys, prams, school stationery, hygiene and wellness products, accessories and cosmetics. It was launched in 2010, today it is successfully operating with 60 stores across India and growing that span across 31 cities in states like Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.
Sharad Venkta, MD and CEO, Toonz Retail said, “We are looking at expanding our store numbers to around 100 outlets in the next two years in the country with special focus on Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Witnessing the increased demand for online shopping we are coming up with our own e-commerce portal by March 31, 2015, to reach out to more customers.”
“We at Toonz Retail look forward to redefine kid’s retail segment in the country through our extensive and well researched stuff for Indian consumers,” he further said.
The company also has plans to launch their brands — Wowmom and Superyoung in the Middle East and Maldives.
