Louise will also join the expert panel for AT Kearney’s CEOs Conclave – Entry Strategy for Global Retailers.

Louise Spillard joined IGD’s research team in 1999 and has been responsible for IGD’s international research since 2000. Louise leads a team of 13 international analysts at IGD. The programme’s research covers European/global retailing trends, analysis of strategies/future direction of international retailers, implications for suppliers, and specific in-depth country studies. Outputs include reports, conferences, commissioned projects and training courses.

The team travels extensively (over 30 countries in 2006), interviewing key industry players and examining best practices. Louise is responsible for developing IGD’s international links with retailers, suppliers and with like-minded food & grocery bodies worldwide. She is a particular expert on the Asia-Pacific region and has spent several weeks in Japan, Australia, Thailand, Korea, China and India, studying the retail sector and undertaking specific research projects for clients.

Prior to this role, Louise undertook research into the UK sector and was involved in projects with Tesco, Safeway and Waitrose. Before joining IGD, Louise spent five years working as a buyer for Waitrose.

To be held on September 4-6 in Mumbai, India Retail Forum represents a congregation of leading retail brands, companies and minds from across the globe, from diverse retail-related verticals – from retail real estate, and design and architecture, to visual merchandising, retail support, and technology.
