Coke wants to buy Highland Spring

Must Read

Coca-Cola seems to be following the Pepsi tagline, ‘Ye Dil Mange More’. After last week’s acquisition of Glaceau, Coca-Cola is now said to be in talks to buy Highland Spring, Britain’s second largest bottled water brand, for £500 million. Highland Spring is owned by the Dubai-based Tajir family.

The company has made earlier attempts to enter the British water market. Three years ago its attempt to promote its bottled water called Dasani was unsuccessful, as the test made on the water revealed that it was nothing more than filtered tap water.
