Dominos to roll out 50 new stores in 2007

Domino’s, one of the world’s largest pizza chain, is planning to expand its operations in India. The pizza chain has planned to roll out at least 50 new outlets by 2007 end. About 80 per cent of these new stores will come up in big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.

Sources close to the development have confirmed that some new stores will also be rolled out in tier-III cities. Most of these outlets will have dining area, but the main focus will be on home delivery. The main source of revenue for Domino’s is home delivery. The company has a market share of over 66 pre cent in the home delivery segment, and aims to increase it up to 75 per cent this year.

Domino’s has planned to invest Rs. 90 crore in the expansion of the company. Out of the total Rs. 90 crore, Rs. 50 crore will be used in rolling out 50 new stores. This fund will be raised largely by internal accruals; remaining money will be funded by promoters Jubilant Organosys and JP Morgan.
