Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited plans to extend the count of Big Bazaar superstores to 70 before 2008, with western India as target. The focus is on Maharashtra, while stores are also marked for Kolhapur, Solapur, Aurangabad and Ahmednagar.
After opening the second Big Bazaar store in Pune, Sadashiv Nayak, Pantaloon’s Head (Western region), informed that the company currently has 44 such outlets countrywide.
Besides, retail stores are scheduled for Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune and Ahmedabad. Five Big Bazaar outlets are planned for Pune alone.
