New Delhi: Earphones and burgers were the most sold items on Paytm through Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platforms, with maximum orders coming from Bengaluru across categories, parent company One97 Communications Ltd said.
In a report titled ‘Short Recap of 2023’ by Paytm se ONDC Network, which highlights trends in consumer behaviour and product preferences, Bengaluru secured the title of city with maximum orders across categories. Under the electronics category, earphones were the most sold item on the platform along with refurbished iPhones.
In the food category, burgers earned the title of the most-sold item of the year. The World Cup season saw a surge in burger sales, particularly in cities like Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru.
According to the report, Delhi secured the title of the city with the most food orders in north India. The city sees the surge in orders during the evening time, particularly for traditional snacks like samosa and chhole bhature. However, the most ordered food in the Capital remained pizza.
The report also noted that the meal that southern regions of India ordered the most was breakfast while Mumbai saw the most orders in the desserts category.
The majority of grocery orders occurred around 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the report said. Bengaluru also secured the title of the city with the highest number in the grocery category.
