India’s first fashion discovery app, wooplr, wants to become the country’s largest fashion discovery app by 2020.
“By 2020, approximately 50 million women in India will shop for fashion through one or the other mobile app. And we want to become a number one app serving that need, ” says Arun Zachari, CEO of Wooplr.
The wooplr app, which until recently was only a fashion discovery platform, has re-defined itself last month; moving from pure fashion discovery platform to commerce-enabled inspiration. It has eliminated boundaries by offering multi-channel options, allowing users to shop from both online and brick-and-mortar stores.
“After turning to a social made commerce, we have grown organically 20 times in this past six weeks. We further strive to push this growth by hiring top talent and building a robust tech platform for our consumers,” adds Zacharia.
Wooplr is present in more than 100 cities and has close to a million users on its app.
In February, the company raised $5 million from Helion Venture Partners and at the time it had claimed that it has 14,000 shops listed on the app and that it had approx a million users of which about 80% are women.
Wooplr competes with other platforms like Red Polka, Roposo, Dotz.com, among others, in this space.
