Swiss brand Bally opens outlet in Mumbai

Must Read

Following the launch of its first store in India at Delhi, the Swiss luxury leather goods brand Bally has opened its second store in the country at Palladium Mall, Mumbai. Spread over 1,300 sq.ft., the outlet stocks Spring/Summer 2012 collection including shoes, bags, ready to wear, and accessories for both men and women.

Bally forayed into the Indian market in 2011 in partnership with the Bird Group.

Talking about the brand’s experience in India, Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director, Bird Group, said: “Since the first store launch last year, the brand has received a great response from the Indian patrons, most of whom have also been purchasing Bally products during their frequent travels abroad. The brand is quite well recognised in India, and clearly has its entrenched set of loyalists in the country. With our new product offerings each season, we plan to reach out to more customers across India.” Further speaking about the luxury brand consuming pattern in India, Bhatia added that the Indian consumers are highly discerning and are appreciative of finer points of luxury; be it materials, craftsmanship, or uniqueness of a product.

The merchandise at the store is available at an average price of Rs 35,000.

Commenting on the brand’s expansion plans, Bhatia stressed: “As of now, we will concentrate on the newly launched Mumbai store and the existing Bally store in Delhi. We still feel that the majority of the Indian market space is still driven by brand, logo, and badge value. ‘Aspirational luxury’ is a big lure and high on everybody’s wish list.”
