HyperCity to invest Rs.40 crore on expansion

K Raheja Group-promoted hypermarket chain HyperCity is set to expand its footprint in India. HyperCity will launch its 76000 sq.ft store in the upcoming MARG Junction Mall, Chennai.

In an exclusive interaction with IndiaRetailing, Mark Ashman, CEO, HyperCity Retail (India) Ltd said,“HyperCity is pleased to join hands with CMD-MARG, for the launch of HyperCity. This significant development marks HyperCity’s
foray into Chennai, with the commitment to provide consumers an authentic hypermarket experience.”

“The investment for a new store would be around Rs. 8 to 10 crores, depending on store size. The approximate investment plan for the ongoing fiscal on the expansion would be around Rs. 40 to 50 crores,” added Ashman.

HyperCity has plans to reach a target of 35 stores by March 2015.
