    Dabur enters into health drink segment


    FMCG major has announced its entry into the malted food drink market with the launch of its new health drink Dabur Chyawan Junior across the country.

    While D&A Cosmetics would be acquired at a cost of 4,79,40,000 Rands (around Rs 24 crore), Atlanta Body and Health Products will be acquired for 20,60,000 Rands (over Rs 1 crore)

    “Dabur is putting in a concerted effort towards offering the benefit of Chyawanprash to a wider audience with the national roll out of this innovative product,” said , executive vice president – marketing (healthcare), Dabur India, in a release.

    Further, the company says that it hopes to capture about 10 per cent share of the Rs 19 billion malted food drink market within the next two years.

    Dabur Foods, a business division of Dabur India, operates on the platform with a product portfolio consisting mainly of packaged fruit juices, cooking pastes, sauces and items for institutional food purchases.

    Meanwhile, Dabur India in its latest filing to has also announced that Q3 results of the company will be out on Jan 28, 2009.
