Pune-based business school Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) yesterday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Standard Chartered Bank to offer a one-year management course on retail banking.
“The demand for talented people in the banking and financial services sector far exceeds the supply. In this partnership, the bank will bring its knowledge and understanding of the banking domain, and SIMS, the ability to nurture talent. Together, we aim to create professionals who are the best in the retail banking sector,” Murali M Natrajan, regional head, consumer banking (India and Nepal), Standard Chartered, said in a statement.
The 300 students enrolled for the programme will all be absorbed by the bank. They will also have an opportunity to earn while studying as they will be provided stipend during the internship.
