“The company will foray into Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, and will set up 30-40 bakeries every year. We will soon roll out outlets in Narketpally (near Hyderabad), Tiruchi, Hubli and Belgaum,” KV Raju, director, Sai Aditya Foods and Retail, told Indiaretailing. The chain is also planning to foray into other states soon. At present, the chain has 12 outlets in Andhra Pradesh.
“We want to supply our products to the popular retail chains and also expand our own outlets. We are already supplying to all the Reliance outlets in Vijayawada, Guntur and Vizag. For us, every shop is viable. Our model is to set up a manufacturing unit so as to service outlets located in a 50-km radius,” Raju added.
“We see lot of business opportunity in coastal towns in Andhra Pradesh. Plans are afoot to enter tier-II cities in coastal areas.” Raju said the margins were very good in the bakery segment.
Aditya Foods is operating three manufacturing units. It is planning two types of outlets – a large one with 50 seats and a smaller one with10 to 20 seats. “Our target is to build a pan-South India brand,” Raju stated.
