Spinach to roll out 1500 stores by 2011

Spinach, the food shopping store, is planning an expansion in the country. The outlet, which is promoted by Wadhawan Food Retail, is going to roll out 1,500 outlets by 2011 across India. The company has 23 food stores in Mumbai at present.

Spinach will add over 250 stores in the current fiscal year in Maharashtra, Delhi and Kolkata. Sources in the company said that the expansion will require an investment of Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,200 crore. Each of the new stores need an approximate investment of Rs 70 lakh.
