The Delhi School of Make-up & Beauty

Founded in the year 2000 by Simmi Ghai, The Delhi School ofMake-up & Beauty is dedicated to teaching professional and personal make-up and hair courses. The curriculum is designed to train an individual to compete in salon hairdressing jobs and to be entrepreneurs in the field of make-up and hair. According to Ghai, “None of the academies in Delhi-NCR focus on practical training and professional techniques, but we not only impart knowledge on the above two. Another selling point of our academy is the portfolio make-up shoot that we offer our students. We are affiliated with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) in UK, which is one of the oldest certifying bodies in the world, through their Indian venture International Organisation of British Qualification (IOBQ).”
She adds, “I am a self-taught make-up artist. In my pursuit of learning, I discovered that there were numerous certified make-up schools, where bundles of books were prescribed in a six-hour session, but there was no practical training. Most of the practice
and learning was left to the student. By now, we must understand that there is no need for long-drawn courses, we only need to be specific. Brand-oriented academies can be a big trap for students, as they only limit a student’s creativity.”
Courses
The academy offers specific and intensive training-based courses. So one can start at Intermediate level, Advanced and then go for Masters level. All courses start with the basic essential training. Asian Bridal Make-Up Course is designed for students looking to learn Indian-Asian-Pakistani traditional bridal make-up. Professional Make-Up Course Level Two – Advanced, which includes level one, Professional Make-Up Course Level three – Masters, which includes level one and two, Basic Hair-Styling
Course – Basic and Bridal Hairstyling Advanced Hair-Styling Course – includes basic hair styling; and Airbrush Make-Up Course – Bridal and Fashion.
Eligibility
A student needs to have cleared class 10 and be at least 15 years of age.
Fee range
Rs15,000 to Rs100,000.
