Commencing the new year on a green note, Haier, one of the largest home appliances and consumer electronics brands, has recently announced its green initiative – ‘Eco Life’ – in India. The initiative is part of its global rebranding exercise aimed at designing smart products which not only meet customer needs, but also adhere to environmental norms.
Looking at an aggressive multi-fold growth with an emphasis on technology, quality, innovation, value and services penetration, Haier is aggressively coming up with ‘Haier Experience Centres’ and ‘Haier Experience Zones’ across the country to establish a strong connect with the customers.
Eric Braganza, president, Haier India, says, “The year 2010 ended on a positive note for us with over 135 per cent growth over 2009. As we move into the New Year and a new decade, our aim is to achieve business objectives as well as endeavour to become a better corporate citizen by offering our valued customers more energy-efficient and eco-friendly products.”
Braganza stresses that besides the Eco Life initiative, the company has forayed into new and challenging product categories in the laptop, camera and home-theatre segments. “With all these diverse initiatives, we are well poised to achieve our growth target of over Rs.1,700 crore in FY’11,” he adds.
The company also plans to strengthen its business through an aggressive sales channel expansion for its business and expand and consolidate its after-sales service network across India.
