Mahindra Retail is preparing to launch a flagship store of its speciality retail brand Mom & Me at New Delhi next week. Speaking to IndiaRetailing, K Venkatraman, MD, Mahindra Retail, informed that the flagship outlet to be launched at the South Extension high street market would be bigger than the average size stores, which range between 5,000-10,000 square feet in area. The store at South Extension would measure approximately around 12,000 square feet, he added.
Following this, Mahindra Retail would be launching another Mom & Me outlet at Rajouri garden in the second week of April, Venkatraman informed.
Mahindra Retail rolled out its first two Mom & Me outlets in the month of February in the cities of Ahmedabad and Ludhiana. Mom & Me speciality formats have a differentiated customer service ideology and product categories that are relevant to -9 months to nine years of motherhood and childhood.
Speaking on the performance of the speciality format until now, Venkatraman remarked, “The format is doing really well. So far we have been very low key. We have not splashed our presence advertised in a major way, but the consumers have come to be aware of us through our small local activities and word of mouth.”
