In an attempt to bring Indian delights to the American consumers, Target Corporation, a leading US retail chain has tied up with Kohinoor Foods, owner of the basmati rice brand in India and abroad – Kohinoor.
“It is for the first time ever in history that a US company has tied up with an Indian company for supplying Indian food products. As per the alliance, Target Corporation will source and sell over 16 different authentic Indian delicacies of Kohinoor Foods, at all their exclusive outlets in the US,” said a joint press release.
Commenting on the tie-up, Gurnam Arora, joint managing director, Kohinoor Foods, said, “Authentic Indian food is gaining a lot of importance and has created a fan following for itself in the US and many other international markets. The aim behind joining hands with a leading chain like Target Corporation is to serve the increasing demands of authentic Indian food in the US.”
“From the diverse range of products that Kohinoor Foods has, initially Target plans to take forward four selected categories — Cook-in Sauces, Microwave Rice, Microwaveable Meal and Meal Kit. The various products which will be offered to the people living in the US are Tikka Masala, Goan Vindaloo, Coconut Curry, Roganjosh, Saffron Rice, Basmati Rice with Peas, Vegetable Biryani and Meal Kits like Coconut Rice & Coconut Curry, Peas Rice & Tikka Sauce, Lemon Rice & Aloo Sabz, Vegetable Biryani & Aloo Mutter, Goan Vindaloo and Roganjosh,” concluded the release.
