Retail icon Kishore Biyani added yet another feather to his cap, Friday, as he introduced the Central to north Indians. Pantaloon Retail India Limited (PRIL) inaugurated Central, a unique concept mall from the company, in Gurgaon. This is the first Central in the northern region and the sixth in the country.
Rakesh Biyani, director, Future Group, told Indiaretailing, “It is the first of its kind in India, wherein there is more space for the consumer to move around and explore his or her buying preferences.”
The opening day saw hundreds of people walking in at Central. “We have seen a good number of footfalls today. It is even better than the opening days in other malls,” said the manager at the FCUK store in Central.
“This is a completely new thing. We have more space to move around freely,” said a couple who had spent nearly four hours at the mall.
Spread across five floors, the mall houses numerous fashion brands including Gucci, D&G, Tommy Hilfiger, Mont Blanc, Sally Hansen, Elizabeth Arden, DKNY, Escada, Azaro, Bossini, Zapp, FCUK, United Colors of Benetton, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Lee, Levi’s, Pepe and Valentino. The fourth floor has a food court from Spoon and Food Bazaar.
