Michele M Mandell, executive vice president of American women’s clothing purveyor The Talbots will resign from the company effective March 20.
She had been with the company since 1983 and rose to become one of the company’s top-ranking woman executives after first earning her stripes as a Talbots store manager in suburban Pennsylvania.
Mandell’s resignation comes amid much turmoil at the clothing retailer, which has struggled to boost liquidity through cost cutting and rigorous negotiations with its lenders.
