Must Read

Online retailing in India has been seeing promising growth in India for quite some years from now.

Speaking at the inaugural session of India Retail Forum ‘08 at The Renaissance, Mumbai, Ambareesh Murty, country manager, eBay India, said, “Because of the ease of buying, trust with the online retailers, safe delivery of products and the value prices offered across product categories, online retailing is significantly emerging in India.”

According to him, a few factors that set online retailing ahead in many aspects are the availability of wide array of products and its reach to any place.

“We have a big catchment. The one big benefit of online retailing is the fact that we deliver some products to some places where that product actually may not be available. In this manner we reach to vast population,” he added.

eBay provides services to more than 670 cities in the country. The site of the company has a listing of around 2 lakh products across 2,000 categories and has a customer base of about 2 millions.
