Wahter makes this possible by selling advertising space on its packaging

New Delhi: Gurugram-based water brand Wahter is offering a 250 ml packaged drinking water bottle at Rs 1 and a 500 ml bottle at Rs 2.

The brand is able to sell at a rate which is much below established competitors by selling advertising space on its packaging, the company said. It said that Wahter serves as a medium of communication for different brands and redefines the two markets – bottled water market and advertising market.

The water bottle brand competes with Bisleri, Acquafina, Kinley, among others, in the market who sell a 500 ml bottle of packaged water at Rs 10 and 1 litre at Rs 20.

“Wahter has garnered support from key industry players including Chaayos, Lotus, JustMyRoots, Sorted, and OYO,” said Amitt Nenwani, Co-founder, Wahter. The partner brands will take 80% of the label space on the bottle and will help the company to sell the product at cheaper prices in the market.

“They’re not just getting a chance at unique advertising — they’re also contributing to the larger mission of making water accessible at a fair price to the masses,” said Nenwani.

The brand conducted a soft launch in the Delhi NCR region on 15 December 2023 and will be available in the market at small and large-scale stores across Delhi NCR from February 2024. It also plans to launch the brand pan-India once the launch in the NCR region is successful.

The company said that the brands chose Wahter as their advertising partner for exclusive platform, social impact, and the extended time of advertising.

Wahter is a division of Shiva Group, a manufacturer and exporter of plasticizers and petrochemical derivatives started in 1987.

The brand also has an end-to-end app designed to make the user journey simple for advertisers. Various brands can use the app to upload their brand’s design and be able to see what the final product would look like from a 360° angle.
