New Delhi: Beauty brand The Body Shop has joined the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) through Shopalyst’s plugin, according to a press release shared on Friday.

The collaboration enables The Body Shop to showcase its catalogue across a rapidly expanding network, allowing consumers to explore and transact easily, the company said.

Vishal Chaturvedi, vice president of retail and operations segment, The Body Shop – South Asia, said, “We are thrilled to be one of the first international beauty and skincare brands in India to join the ONDC Network. With ONDC Network, we can widen our reach, be easily accessible to consumers across the country, and provide them with a simply great experience at affordable prices.”

The sustainable brand was launched in 2006 under Quest Retail Pvt Ltd. and has a strong retail presence with 200 stores. It has reached 15000+ pin codes via the ecommerce channels.

“As the ONDC Network charts its course towards creating a transparent e-commerce ecosystem that champions equal opportunities for all, we are elated to have The Body Shop join the network,” said T Koshy, managing director and chief executive officer, ONDC.

Started in December, 2021, ONDC is an initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, which aims to create a facilitative model to revolutionize digital commerce, giving greater thrust to penetration of retail e-commerce in India.
