Phoenix to start Bengaluru’s first mixed-use mall

Phoenix Mills Ltd, one of India’s leading high-street shopping centre developers, is all set to open Bengaluru’s first mixed-use retail destination assimilating spaces for retail, entertainment, hospitality and high-end commercial.

Spread across an area of over 29 lakh square feet, the mall offers around a 900 feet frontage on the Whitefield Road in the city and is slated to be operational by March 2010.

Speaking to media, Tony Ward, chief operating officer leasing, Phoenix Mills Ltd, said, “Bengaluru is the fourth largest FMCG market in India and here we are strategically in a very good location. We are hopeful to attract huge footfalls as the city is vibrant with young women shoppers who comprise around 50 per cent of the entire population of the city and are the major driver for malls and other entertainment venues.”

This Rs 645 crore project includes promoters and private equity players like Phoenix Mills Ltd, Horizon Ventures, HBS Realtors, Pinnacle Real Estate Development Pvt Ltd, Sharyans and IL&FS Group.
