Mango to introduce menswear, open new stores

Major Brands (India) Pvt Ltd, the India franchisee of womenswear brand Mango, will soon be launching its first menswear collection branded ‘HE by Mango’ in India. The company has also planned to expand the network of Mango stores by opening an outlet in Hyderabad by end 2008, along with two more stores in Pune and Ahmedabad by February next year.

Confirming this to Indiaretailing, an official spokesperson from Major Brands said, “The outlets will be housed in upcoming malls in these cities and we have already booked our spaces. Besides, we have plans to open more standalone stores in various other cities.” The company currently operates six Mango outlets in the country.

Speaking about their menswear collection, Shashank Jani, GM – Operations, Major Brands said, “With Mango’s men’s collection, we are making a firm commitment to our future male clientele. This collection caters to the young fashion-conscious man and will definitely complement the women’s collection. We are sure that the collection will be accepted and liked by all.”

The menswear range, which includes t-shirts, waistcoats, trousers, jeans and accessories, will initially be launched at Mango outlets in Atria Mall, Mumbai and Select Citywalk mall, New Delhi, by September 2008.
