Manufacturers and distributors from Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Tirupur exhibited their products at the Hotel Bangalore International for the INNOVATIVE II 2015 event held between 18-20th May, hosted by the Karnataka Hosiery and Garments Association’s (KHAGA).
The main highlights of the event also included a fashion show by Tirupur-based Spictex Group, a manufacturing and export company founded by Mr. Muthusamy in 1972. The Spictex Group started as a manufacturer and seller of branded inner wear for the domestic market. The company, which also initiated its export division in 1993, clocked a turnover of Rs 400 crore last fiscal. Today, managed by Vinod Kumar, Joint Managing Director, who meticulously tests the products for quality control measures and manages the in-house design team, Spictex Group is self reliant and does not rely on any 2nd or 3rd party manufacturer or materials. Says Kumar, who finds an advantage of having an all under one roof manufacturing and distribution network, “We are pretty strong in TN, where we clock around Rs10-15 crore. In India, manufacturers really lag behind when it comes to good designs. There are no design teams for the domestic market. Smaller players cannot afford to have individual design teams.”
All participants recorded a good response from the event which had buyers enquiring about from all over Karnataka enquiring about their products. Around 50-55 exhibitors, including Dollar Industries, Arvind Garments, Menz o Clothing and Sethia Creations Pvt Ltd., Prem Hosiery Industry, Krishna Plus, Sachi Creation Pvt Ltd, Riva Fashion, Darshi Creations, Janta Enterprises, Bhagwan Mahaveer Agency, Khotari Enterprises, Vivani, Rudramma Exports, Vikas Hosiery Centre, Aru Enterprises, Reyes Fashion, Tanache Fashion, Kashish, Dugadsz, Patel Bandani, Fashion Gallery, Sheel Fashion, Parachaya Apparels, Ram Agency, Adeshwar Enterprises, Hema Garments, Kid Zone, Padmavathi Garments, KK Apparels, Pinko Impex and Advance Baby Products, participated in the event.
