Dabur India’s food and beverages service outlet chain Lite Bite Foods Pvt Ltd has plans to invest Rs 2 billion in next three years to establish pan-India network of around 200 restaurants, informed Amit Burman, vice chairman, Dabur India on the sidelines of Food Forum 2009.
The Delhi-based company, which runs brands such as Food Union, Fresco, Baker Street and Pino’s Pasta Pizza, will be rolling out 20 food and beverage outlets next year in the northern part of the country.
Currently, the company has 38 outlets. “Our capital expenditure for the coming fiscal is Rs 250 million and we will be funding this through internal accrual,” said Burman.
He also revealed that the company plans to take its F&B brands overseas over the course of time, but there are no active considerations. “We will be opening a Fresco and Baker Street at the Delhi domestic airport,” added Burman.
“Corporate catering is an emerging business opportunity. A vibrant and ever-growing business of the corporate catering industry today tends to be around Rs 2.5 billion and is growing at a healthy pace of 20 per cent,” concluded Burman.
