Godrej Group’s agri and food division, Godrej Agrovet Limited, inaugurated its 7th Nature’s Basket at Hiranandani in Powai, Mumbai, on February 23. Nature’s Basket is the urban retailing venture of the Rs 870-crore (US$200 million, FY 2006) division. CK Vaidya, managing director, Godrej Agrovet, has said there are plans to open five more stores in the next six months.
Nature’s Basket is a retail outlet for fresh farm produce and stocks a variety of local and exotic vegetables, fruits, herbs and dairy products. The first store was opened in Mumbai’s Warden Road in January 2005.
Godrej Aadhaar is the rural retailing venture of Godrej Agrovet.
