    Statistics reveal that the current $300 billion retail market in India, is likely to grow to $427 billion by 2011. However, compared to the rapid growth in the Indian retail domain, there is already a severe shortage of management resources.

    Companies in the retail segment are trying to attract fresh graduates from leading management institutes to fill their talent requirements. Placements in the colleges begin in January and several are already in talks with retail giants.

    (NMIMS) tied up with Pantaloons for its ‘Retail MBA’ course launched in June. , vice-chancellor NMIMS said, “Retail is an emerging sector; we need to address future needs today. Pantaloons which has tied up with 10 other institutes, will have the first batch of Retail MBA summer trainees in April 2007.
