Lenskart made its entry into the Middle East market in 2021, inaugurating its first store in Dubai, UAE. The company at that time committed to invest approximately $50 million to expand its footprint in the UAE, as stated in a company blog. In the same year, Lenskart secured $220 million in funding through a round led by Temasek and Falcon Edge Capital, with the aim of not only strengthening its presence in India but also scaling operations in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, as reported by IndiaRetailing.

Founded in 2010 by Peyush Bansal, a judge on the Indian television show Shark Tank, along with co-founders Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi, Lenskart has grown significantly. With over 1,100 stores strategically located in major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Chennai across India, the company’s online platform and retail outlets collectively offer a collection of more than 5,000 eyewear styles, according to information available on the company’s website.

Lenskart incorporates robotic techniques and embraces cutting-edge technologies. Lenskart’s inception in India was driven by a vision to provide value-for-money products without the involvement of intermediaries.
