Zepto appoints Rachit Ranjan as Chief Public Policy Officer

New Delhi: Quick commerce major Zepto has named Rachit Ranjan as its Chief Public Policy Officer, effective May 2025, according to media reports. In this newly created strategic role, Rachit will oversee the company’s public policy, regulatory, and government relations, supporting Zepto’s mission of building a transparent and trusted brand while scaling rapidly across India.

Welcoming Rachit’s appointment, Aadit Palicha, Co-founder and CEO of Zepto, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Rachit to Zepto. As we scale rapidly across India, having a sharp, mission-driven leader in public policy is more important than ever. Rachit brings a deep understanding of the policy landscape and a proven ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders—qualities that are crucial to navigating a fast-evolving regulatory environment and building long-term value.”

With over 15 years of experience in public policy, legal advisory, and regulatory affairs, particularly within the technology and digital platforms space, he is well-positioned to steer Zepto’s policy agenda forward.

An alumnus of the University of California, Berkeley – School of Law and the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Rachit has held senior leadership roles at prominent companies, including Dream11, WhatsApp, JUUL Labs, and Uber, where he focused on bridging business priorities with regulatory frameworks.

Speaking on his new role, Rachit Ranjan commented, “Zepto’s incredible growth story has captured the imagination of the entire country.
