Flipkart Wholesale sees 9.5% sales surge this festive season

Flipkart Wholesale’s festive sale event, ‘Diwali Shopotsav’, ran from 9 October to 1 November

Bengaluru: Flipkart Wholesale, business-to-business (B2B) omnichannel marketplace platform of Flipkart Group, has witnessed a 9.5% sales surge during this festive season compared to the same period in the fiscal year (FY) 2023, the company said in a press release on Friday.

Its festive sale event, ‘Diwali Shopotsav’, ran from 9 October to 1 November.

The company saw a positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), with increased sales and improved profitability, the release added.

Across categories, home textile and seasonal décor category witnessed 50% growth, while luggage and baggage saw 20% increase, driven by corporate demand. The season also saw growing interest in home linen and brass décor items.

Sweets and namkeen gifting range achieved 25% sales growth. Meanwhile, the savoury and biscuits category recorded a 21% growth.

Both home care (cleaning products) and winter care categories experienced 100% growth, fueled by heightened demand for essential home and personal care items during the festive season.

Launched in 2020, Flipkart Wholesale offers a variety of products, including fashion, groceries, and general merchandise. It serves a range of members, including kiranas, hotels, restaurants, and cafeterias (HoReCa), and offices and institutions.

Apart from Flipkart Wholesale, the digital commerce entity Flipkart Group owns and operates Flipkart, Myntra, Flipkart Health+ and Cleartrip.
